Class Descriptions

Hot Yoga

Hot Yoga consists of a series of postures done in a heated room of 105 degrees with mild humidity to promote sweating and purification of the body. It is a beginner level class. We have two class lengths to choose from; 60 and 90 minutes. The increased temperature in the room allows an increase in stretching and flexibility and helps to prevent injury. The hot temperature, combined with the yoga poses means that you will sweat a lot and burn off a lot of calories. Hot Yoga can help to improve flexibility, suppleness and strength and can also help with the ability to deal with stress and to increase relaxation.

PLEASE NOTE: The majority of our Hot Yoga classes are comprised of 26 of the Classical 84 postures. Expect some variation on the 60 minute class  from teacher to teacher as they introduce additional postures. Classes are subject to change.

Power - Hot Power Yoga is a beginners Vinyasa flow done in a heated room that strengthens the muscular, circulatory, and respiratory systems of the body. It can be practiced as an athletic class if you perform all movements! Hot Power Yoga is a modern version of an ancient practice designed to create physical and mental fitness. We challenge our physical limits and explore our mental limitations, breaking through into new possibilities. Regular practice helps us to meet life’s challenges with strength and composure. Room heat is moderate.

Vinyasa  - Hot Vinyasa is a dynamic practice that emphasizes the integration of breath and movement in order to facilitate the natural unfolding of a series of postures.  Often likened to a dance, the creative sequencing in a vinyasa class is built around surya namaskar (sun salutations) developing heat, endurance, flexibility and strength in the practitioner. Room heat is moderate.

Ashtanga  - A challenging set sequence of postures developed by Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India.  It utilizes sun salutations, ujjayi breath, drishti, (gaze) and bandhas, (energy locks) in order to deepen one’s connection to one’s practice.  It develops strength, flexibility and endurance in the practitioner. Room heat is low.

Community Class Yoga - Our Community Class is a $5 drop in open to anyone! In the Community Class, level 1-2 traditional hatha yoga postures are done in a room where the temperature is low heat.

AUDIO - Audio is a pre-recorded class. Instructions are given over the sound system with little distraction and perfect for someone who knows the routine. You can practice with little pressure to keep up or stay in poses. If you need to leave early, that’s ok too. Work at your own pace and watch others if you need help. 75- 90 minute class length.

Assisted Audio – Trained assistant demonstrating and helping students as we play audio. This allows a constant flow of instructions to keep you in the zone while also allowing us to work with students who need some more help. Its like having two teachers.
